Catch the Pickle

We made the bots worse (on purpose)

Playtesting the campaign showed a problem: the bots were too good. A glove bot caught the pickle almost every time you threw it, and a pickle bot ran down gloves like it had a map of the arena.

So every bot level got worse in three specific ways. Gloves react later and swing less reliably. Pickles lose the plot now and then, chasing the wrong glove for a moment, and stutter a little as they run. Even the bosses miss now and then, though they still react far faster than you do.

In our test matches the hard bots catch about a third fewer throws than before, and the first levels of the campaign are gentler still: a very short round, one very slow bot, and getting pickled never stops you moving on. The aim is a game where you lose because you got outplayed, not because the bot read your mind.
