Catch the Pickle

Privacy

This is a plain-language summary of how this site and the game handle data. It is not legal advice, and it will be updated when the Steam release adds anything new.

This website

We do not run advertising or analytics trackers. Our host, Vercel, keeps ordinary server logs (such as your IP address and the pages you request) for security and to run the service.

The mailing list

If you sign up, we receive your email address and pass it to the mailing-list service we use so it can send you the emails you asked for. You can unsubscribe from any email, and ask us to delete your address.

Playtester sign-in

Invited playtesters sign in with a username and password we gave them. A sign-in sets one cookie that proves you are signed in and which edition you may open. It does not track you around the web.

The game

Your progress, cosmetics and settings are saved in your own browser or on your own computer. Nothing is sent to us. In an online room, your chosen name, colour and button presses are shared with the other players in that room over direct connections, using a free matchmaking service to introduce you. There is no text or voice chat.

Children

The game has no violence, no chat and no purchases of real-money items. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
